Streamer Cinema Co-op Membership Details

Streamer Cinema
Co-op Membership Details
(Proposed)

You’re going to like it.

Note: Streamer Cinema is in it’s pre-formation phase. These are some of the potential membership benefits, and the basics of how the co-op might operate once it is officially formed.

Your suggestions and constructive criticisms in how to make this an awesome co-op are welcome.

(This is a list in progress and only suggestions and possibilities. Additions, deletions and details are subject to change.)

  • Anyone can be a member.
  • The co-op operates to benefit and empower you, the co-op members.
  • The co-op operates on a for-profit basis, however, profits are distributed to you, the co-op members.
    • Profit distribution possibly based on the amount of your purchases (similar to REI or Costco).
    • Purchases include streaming or buying movies and anything else we have for sale.
  • For Filmmaker Members: in addition to the above membership profit distribution, you get what’s earned from the streaming of your film, minus the associated costs and co-op support.
    • Currently, the actual numbers and percentages have not been determined. The expectation, goal and intention is to make this a much better deal for you than anywhere else.
    • The co-op will have a smaller library than most of the existing streaming services (at least for the first few years). This means your movie will likely get more visibility.
    • This prospective increased return will make your potential investors happy. You’ll have a better chance of raising the funds to make your movie in the first place.
  • Each member has one vote regardless of how much they contribute.
    • Nobody can buy more memberships/shares in order to gain more influence or control.
  • The membership purchase price has not been determined, but it will be reasonable.
  • Possible partnership with local/independent movie theaters.
  • … more details are in the works and up for discussion.
